Mmm…Chocolate-Covered Bacon
Chocolate-covered bacon sounds like a food that only Homer Simpson could love.
They say that bacon makes everything better. Even chocolate?
Joseph Marini III, a fourth-generation candy maker sells bacon bonbons at the Santa Cruz Boardwalk seaside amusement park. Famous Dave’s serves “Pig Lickers”, bacon strips covered in dark chocolate and sprinkled with sea salt, at the Minnesota State Fair. I guess I shouldn’t be too shocked by this new genre of fair food. I once saw deep-fried Twinkies at a county fair, so bacon covered in chocolate isn’t any less unhealthy and strange. The philosophy seems to be “let’s take foods that can stop your heart and combine them for double the obsesity.”
Some will say that they love the salty and sweet flavor combination. And by “some” I mean those morbidly obese people who use the motorized carts in Wal-Mart.
Yes, we know the look of this site is a bit Wal-Mart-ish.
